Music Ministry
The Oakwood Choir is a dedicated group of singers who serve an active role each week in our worship services,
preparing the heart for the Word of God.
The Oakwood Choir and congregation is lead by a talented musician and singer in his own right, Steve Redwine.
Pianist, Cherri Wade offers accompaniment and many beautiful instrumental solos.
In addition to musicals, cantatas and special events, the Oakwood Choir provides a unique opportunity for those
desiring to serve the Lord in a musical capacity and experience the fellowship of a wonderful loving family of believers.
The music ministry at Oakwood Baptist Church has something for everyone. Among the opportunities for
musical worship are Adult Choir, Children's Choir for special occasions, Easter and Christmas Cantatas, Special Music,
Soloists, Brass Ensemble, Fifth Sunday Night Music Service and our Praise Band. Steve does a great job of
selecting a wide variety of musical styles such as Southern Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship,
standard hymns and classical styles of Sacred music.

Cherri Wade, Pianist
My name is Cherri Wade and I am the pianist at Oakwood Baptist Church. This job is one of the greatest joys of my life,
and a lovely gift from the Lord. I also work at Angelic Ministries, an organization set up to help individuals and families in need.
Before joining Oakwood Baptist Church as part of the music program, I was a teacher for many years,
my last several years being spent at Christian Academy of Knoxville.
I grew up in California, so my education began there. As a college student, I received my first B.A from
the University of California, and later a second B.A. and Masters degree from the University of Tennessee.
My husband and I have two fine sons, both of whom are involved in teaching and music as careers.
They also coach at the high school and college levels.
Besides music and serving at Angelic, I have a passion for dance, anything from ballet to hip hop.
I am also learning to use sign language as part of our worship services at OBC.
The Lord has richly blessed my life, and I count among those treasures my relationship with Jesus, a wonderful husband,
two fine sons, a loving church family, and my job at Oakwood.
